Mary Quarterman, Director of Nursing at Northaven for over 30 years, became acquainted with the Northaven community when she was part of the Wellness Outreach program from Northwest Hospital.
Mary was a Wellness nurse at IL and then she developed the Director of Nursing position for Assisted Living at a time when Assisted Living was a new step in the delivery for long-term care.
She was a pioneer in creating loving compassionate care in the assisted living setting and became the heart and soul of our community, dedicated to residents, family and staff.
Mary’s continued strength and role modeling of compassionate care to all moved us through the difficult years of COVID epidemic, never wavering from her core values.
Thank you, Mary, for all you gave to all of us!
Susan Cramer, Resident Services Coordinator, joined Northaven in 2003 and has been a vital part of our community for over 20 years. Her problem-solving skills and compassionate guidance have been invaluable to residents, helping them navigate the challenges of aging.
Susan brought diverse speakers on important topics like hearing loss, mental health, Medicare, and more, and she coordinated our annual Wellness Fair, which attracted over 40 community resources.
Her warmth extended beyond her professional role, as she led book clubs, organized outings, and shared stories and treats from her travels.
Susan's light, laughter, and her mother’s cookies will be dearly missed.
